Skills for Youth Workers By using professional small group leadership principles, you can stop making mistakes that cripple your small group youth ministry and meet resistance from kids. Of the three big mistakes that small group leaders make, the biggest is doing too much for group members. Kids in groups are very capable of doing things. Their groups are capable of even bigger things. (And the church is able to march against the gates of Hades.) But leaders often make some very simple, unintentional mistakes that hold back groups and their members from becoming confident, capable Christians who go on to do big things for God.
