The "Togethers"
of Scripture
What God
has commanded His people to do for and with one another
We have identified 65 "TOGETHERS" or plural commands for the church found in Scripture. This is not an exhaustive list, and more "Togethers" could be added.
The groupings of these "Togethers" could certainly be organized differently. For example, "Be Humble With Each Other" could have been placed in the "Attitudinal Togethers" rather than "The Togethers That Hold Together."
In identifying these 65 Togethers, we are not trying to classify them as one might the animal kingdom, but more like species of butterflies. There are a lot of similarities between some of the Togethers as there might be between different kinds of butterflies. We have made our distinctions in order to emphasize clearly what God expects from us so that they can be practically implemented.
The 65 Togethers are not mutually exclusive. There is a great deal of overlap to reinforce God's desires. Each of the Togethers has something unique about itself, even though a great deal might be the same as another Together. For example, there is much similarity between Meet One Another's Needs and Look Out for One Another's Good and Serve One Another. However, each does not encompass all of the dynamics of the others.
